YURI YUROVSKY

Born in Ukraine, Kiev. He worked from the 1930s through 90s. Representing the older generation of Kievan Soviet artists of the twentieth century Landscape painter and a brilliant master of color, master of still life, one of the best colorists in the world of his time. Yuri was a member of the art group, educated and highly cultured environment, which includes the Kiev school of painting: Nikolai Glushchenko, Tatiana Yablonskaya, Semen Guyetsky, Victor Koshevoy. These artists tended to include a wide range of traditions, from the realistic to the modernism and expressionism, with its clear and vibrant color scheme. In the second half of the 20th century, after the Second World War in Ukraine specific artistic medium wave easing ideological pressure was created, along with the peace almighty Socialist Realism, the position of so-called "silent art", born non-conformist movement that art has expanded its scope to include certain traditions impressionism, expressionism, fauvism and some other modernist trends. These trends are particularly noticeable in the Ukrainian landscape painting of the second half of the twentieth century.


Yuri had very warm friendship bound with Tatiana Bruni, Anatoly Petritsky and Fedor Nirod. It is well-known artists scenographers who created costumes and scenery for the Mariinsky Theatre, the Bolshoi Theater of Opera and Ballet, the Kiev Opera.


Banned in the Soviet Union, Kandinsky, Malevich - the artists who influenced the outlook of Yuri. Many questions were asked by the acquaintance with Malevich. He spent his entire life figuring out to understand the mystique of Kazimir Malevich works. Yuri Yurovsky was around 17 years old; he was also among those who became close to Malevich.
