History of Ukrainian Artist-Svetlana Sevostyanchik.

When Svetlana was a baby, she stayed with her grandmother in the Ukraine which was then part of the Soviet Union. At an early age, Svetlana loved to paint, and her grandmother used to joke that this baby was born with brushes instead of hands. She never let a lack of canvas stop her at this young age. She painted all surfaces that she found befitting of artwork. She painted on the floor, on the wall, and all over the balcony which was overlooking a busy thoroughfare named Lesi Ukrainky Boulevard. At times she got beaten for her “mischievous masterpieces” in the home, however her grandmother was incredibly supportive of her talents. She would buy pencils, colors and albums for painting. The first influence for Svetlana’s artwork during this formative time, was an album of paintings from a renowned Chinese Artist named Qi Baishi, and Utagawa Hiroshige, a famous Japanese artist. From this moment Svetlana gave her heart to painting international landmarks as well as a specific style of Japanese influence in modern artwork. As the years went on, Svetlana would later find herself immersed in Mathematics, and in the field of Chemistry where she earned her Doctorate Degree. Over many years Svetlana stayed in her field of chemistry. However, the calling for painting never left her spirit, and many years later beckoned her back to the canvas and all the beauty surrounding that. She has since chosen to completely give her life back over to her masterpieces which was the platform of her original love
